Washington State FBLA:
Wow, to say that this year has gone by extremely fast is quite an understatement! It seems just like yesterday we were all competing at Nationals in sunny Anaheim, California.
As the school year begins to wind down and this FBLA year comes to a close, I ask you all to reflect on your successes this year. Washington FBLA, you have accomplished great things and there is no doubt in my mind that you will be successful in whatever path you head down for your life! Choices can be scary but remember, without a risk there might not be a reward. Choose a new journey and make life exciting, you never know what might happen in the future. Many of you became involved in community service projects, promoted membership awareness, and strengthened your competition skills at our Regional Conferences. Not only have you grown as business leaders, but you have also gained valuable citizenship and leadership skills that are bound to take you far in life.
As many of you stood on stage as you qualified at the State Business Leadership Conference in Seattle, you have and will continue to accomplish milestones in your career. For those of you that will go on to compete at the National Leadership Conference, your FBLA journey will continue to Nashville, Tennessee. If you didn’t qualify to compete at the National Conference, don’t worry! Your FBLA opportunities are still unlimited.
Change is inevitable, and change can be a great thing! Start thinking about how you can make your chapter more successful next year, and come up with some amazing recruitment and community service activities. It is never too early to start planning for your next journey! How will you Transform Tomorrow and help others Transform Tomorrow, too? This year has been fabulous, but it can only get better next year with drive and dedication!
For those seniors who have taken their last FBLA journey, consider joining PBL in college! Phi Beta Lambda is the collegiate version of FBLA and they compete in similar types of competitions as FBLA members. If your college doesn’t have a PBL chapter, start one! PBL is always looking to expand to new colleges, so be a leader on your college campus and get one started.
Although it is time for the 2013-2014 year to start winding down, I want to not only congratulate you on all of your accomplishments, but thank you for letting me serve you this year and lead our team to greatness. Remember, you can and will accomplish great things if you have your mind set on success. I wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors and can’t wait to see what successful path you take in life!
2013-2014 State President
