Greetings Washington FBLA Advisers and Happy New Year!
Today will mark what will be the first of your weekly updates – the Washington FBLA Weekly Message. You will receive a weekly update from your Management Team. We welcome any questions or suggestions you have for future updatesso we can address them for all our chapters.

State Business Leadership Conference:
SBLC Guide Next Week!
The State Business Leadership Conference Registration Guide will be available next week. Registration will open in mid January, and we will have a webcast demo of how registration will work. This will be somewhat similar to what you experienced for region conferences that had registration close after 12/15, but there will be a number of changes in the form/process – and more information will be required to register. Watch for more on that in the SBLC Guide!
We have an exciting announcement – our keynote message is confirmed! The state officers, Lindsay, and I all worked together – and Jaycob Curlee, a past semi-finalist from America’s Got Talent, will be sharing his message and some of his music with us at the opening session. Check out Jaycob’s story and please do share it with your students. I’m very, very excited that Jaycob is able to join us – it’s going to be absolutely awesome!
Housing for SBLC will be managed by Washington FBLA. Just like last year, the registration fee is all-inclusive of the conference and hotel. The housing form will come out about a week after the SBLC Guide. The housing submission form will open at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 9 – and will have a 7-day window. It will be an online upload of an Excel document – and hotel rooms will be assigned on a “first submitted, first assigned” basis. Please take advance notice and note that if your housing form does not match your total number of students/advisers/chaperones registered, you will lose your place in the priority line for hotel assignment – as while we complete housing assignments, the first thing we check is that the numbers match – but we cannot slow down the assignment process.
We are very excited about the capstone experience of FBLA for our members – and we look forward to working together!
Board of Directors Update:
Your Board of Directors met today in Olympia. They reviewed the financial health and standing of WA FBLA (which is very strong and stable), various agreements important to conference and state operations, and several policy and procedure refinements and recommendations to improve service, equity, and consistency for you. We will have updates for you next week and welcome any topics or future agenda items you would like the Board to consider and act on.
We are honored to be serving Washington FBLA, and very excited for a bright future together. This is the last time you will see TeamTRI attached to any communication – as we are your Washington FBLA team – and all you will see going forward is your team at Washington FBLA. Both Ryan and I as your leaders are always happy to help you – please feel free and encouraged to call, email, or text either of us – I’m 360.219.6342 or email@example.com and Ryan is 918.852.2444 or firstname.lastname@example.org. In next week’s update, we will share more about the team you will see and hear from moving forward.
Starting next week, you will also see a “state officer corner” in our weekly update with a brief update from your state president, Alli Redd.
Best wishes for a Happy New Year and looking forward to exciting success ahead!
